It's like the year came to a bit of a slow down this week, actually on Tuesday it came to a screeching stop.
It just seems hitting a milestone changes everything. The little people getting back into the routine, Squeaks starting her education proper, and it all seemed to fall into place for everyone, it was a renewed enthusiasm which has taken over the house this week.
So, our week that was:
Sunday: I wanted to take some photos of the boys as we waved goodbye to August. As they swapped places in from of the camera they gave each other a kiss (before Cheeky promptly pushed Tiny off the table they were posing on).
Monday: A trial run back to playschool. I mean it wasn't like mummy actually thought playschool started back. And took the time to take photos outside the front door. Drove the boys to the community centre, did a u-turn and came home. It really was just getting everyone back into the mindset of routine.
Tuesday: And that we actually had everyone starting back on the same day. The traditional first day back photo!
Wednesday: I caught the boys reading each other a bedtime story. The quality and capture is not great but the memory is.
Thursday: Whilst mummy went to London, and the boys had the day with grandma and grampy. Squeaks and daddy went picking blackberries.
Friday: Here's a long story. When I was pregnant with the boys I had to take my wedding band off (fat fingers!). And then I had a new jewellery box for Christmas. And meticulously transferred all of my jewellery over. After the boys were born I tried to find my wedding band and couldn't. I thought it would turn up. It didn't. We moved to Wales and Mr J suggested we get a new wedding band. We tried so many, and nothing but nothing was 'right', so I kept a silver band which Squeaks had given me for the first of my birthday's we celebrated together and Mr J and I agreed on an eternity ring instead. And therein is the long story. Thursday night I went to change my necklace (as I do every few weeks) opened my jewellery box and my wedding band was there. The fairies have visited. And for some reason, especially as I travelled to the Lion's Den on Friday, I have a sense of peace having it back (even if my eternity ring is a complete mismatch and back on the shelf [like I'd trust that jewellery box again!]).
Saturday: I am so proud of my progress with this baking lark. I think back to the cake I attempted for Squeaks 3rd birthday... and it reminds me that anything's possible!
i have to applaud your GBBO inspired baking and making - looks so professional Debbie you should be proud.
