As last week closed, it became obvious this working week was not going to be a good one.
Whilst it might only have lasted three days, it has managed to eat away at the last month.
Questioning. Intruding. Becoming that 'voice' on your shoulder which questions now everything you have done and continue to do.
And so, as it ate away at our weekend, Tuesday impending.
So, we got into the car on Monday, on the understanding I had to get away from anything associated with it.
The type of day where your office being in your home is not helpful.
And so we ended up at Ogmore.
My favourite beach from my childhood.
And whilst Barry Island may be on our door step.
Ogmore offers adventure.
Freedom.
The chance to escape.
Armed with a picnic, a blanket, buckets and spades.
We became free for the afternoon.
To explore rock pools.
To dig for water.
To sail boats.
To have fun.
To be free.
As we drove home we discussed the practicalities of moving to Ogmore.
And, whilst it might seem perfect.
Where would we go to escape?
Beautiful pictures, looks like a lovely place to escape to
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have somewhere to escape to, to get away from everyday life for a few hours.
ReplyDeleteWe love Ogmore beach too - the kids would always choose Barry Island over Ogmore but they always have more fun at Ogmore despite themselves! Glad you had a breather from a stressful week :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! You can't beat a day at the beach!

ReplyDeleteAwww I love your photos and totally wish I were at the beach right now instead of sat here in my living surrounded by stuff that should be in the kitchen! Hubby's getting the new floor down and I'd much rather be playing on the beach with the kids :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and glad you have somewhere to turn to when things are full.

ReplyDeleteSounds like work is very stressful for you at the moment, and your last sentence is very wise! I'm glad you put life on hold and took your time out with the children, it looks like a lovely day and one which they all loved. I'm sure Ogmore will become one of their childhood favourites too! ReplyDeleteHi, I was so excited when I clicked on this post. Ogmore beach is our favourite beach to go to. We live in Cardiff and when we feel like we need fresh air we always head to Ogmore. It is such a great exploring beach, amazing for rock pooling and fossil hunting. I have done a post on our adventures fossil hunting there, and we regular go there for training with work as well.
ReplyDeleteMy fossil post, http://wp.me/p4jd4S-2d would love you to have a look.
