The Gallery: Faces of Siblings

Tom & Seb beginning pre-school has opened up the million dollar £70* question as to whether they are identical or non-identical twins.
*The price of a DNA test for twins

Whilst Tom & Seb were twins with seperate sacs and seperate placentas, there is a 10% chance that they are still identical, although it would seem some doctors are unaware of this, our Consultant was quick to highlight it to us.

It is a very convenient response to not being able to tell them apart (I have thought it enough times).
And yet, when I look back at baby photos of Seren, I think her so similar to Seb, but have never thought her similar to Tom.
Photos seem to reveal so much. I rarely look at photos of Tom and Seb and confuse them.
Yet, in life it is very different.
And I wonder if that is just the reality of bringing up two siblings of the same age.

And so, here as Tara welcomes faces in this week's Gallery.
I would like to introduce you to my favourite faces, of siblings.

(and oddly, I am looking at these photos thinking how similar Tom and Seren are. There's no hope).

  1. I can't believe how much Tom & Seb have changed from toddlers to little boys. Beautiful pictures of all three, I just want to squeeze their cheeks ;-)

  7. I wouldn't have said your boys were identical - but I know some genes can be switched on or off so there is a chance!

  22. Fab pics! I know what you mean about sometimes your boys look more alike than others. With my three it seems to be that their expressions look more similar - body language even. And I have two boys and a girl, but it's boy #2 and girl that seem to pull the same faces!

  23. I found some old photos of my sons dad the other day when he was the same age and they look identical! It's so crazy how they change to look like different people as they get older!

  24. When Ella was born 2 years and 1 week after Kaycee I was shocked as soon as I saw her because she looked the spitting image of Kaycee. She was a much smaller baby but her face was exactly the same. It's strange because in real life they look totally different but looking back at photos it's hard to tell them apart.
Your babies are gorgeous, I just love those smiles :)
